Amboseli National Park is located north of Kilimanjaro. It is one of the most famous national parks in Kenya, and the second most visited in the country after the Masai Mara Park. Amboseli is one of the oldest parks in Kenya, having existed since 1974. It is located in the heart of the Masai territory, and many traditional villages are settled in the periphery of the park. 

Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya's most popular parks for its dense wildlife and unique landscape. Amboseli is famous for its elephants, they are numerous with large tusks. There are also numerous herbivores, mainly wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. In Amboseli, the vegetation is very contrasted: on one side, its great desert and dusty expenses, and on the other, swamps and green oases. It is beautiful, but it is also this diversity of ecosystems that makes the richness of animal life in the national park. Amboseli is also the playground of large predators: lions, cheetahs, and leopards it is also a real paradise for birdwatchers since the park is home to nearly 400 species of birds. Amboseli National Park has 4 gates: Kimana gate in the southeast, Iremito (Erimito) Gate to the northeast, Namanga gate or Meshanani gate in the northwest, Kitirua gate in the south.
Depending on where you are coming from, choose one or the other. Namanga gate is the most popular because it is the closest to Nairobi. Kimana gate is the most convenient if you come from Mombasa.
